CHW Training & Certification

A statewide leadership pathway for people living with HIV.

Why a PLHIV-Led CHW Program Matters

People living with HIV already do the work of care, trust-building, navigation, education, stigma reduction, and community survival. Positive Change Movement is building a statewide Community Health Worker pathway that recognizes this expertise, trains it, certifies it, pays it, and moves it into leadership.

Training Focus

The PCM CHW pathway prepares PLHIV to support HIV care and prevention, U=U education, retention in care, benefits navigation, harm reduction, stigma reduction, rights education, peer support, documentation, ethics, community outreach, and policy advocacy.

Certification and Advancement

Our goal is a state-recognized certification pathway that helps PLHIV move into paid CHW roles, peer navigation, training, supervision, advisory leadership, program evaluation, and public health decision-making.

From Support to Power

Peer support remains part of the work, but the larger vision is leadership. PCM is building a route for PLHIV to move from being served by systems to leading, staffing, evaluating, and transforming those systems.
